Ladies 20th Anniversary Celebrations
Thanks to all who supported the 20th Anniversary Celebrations of Ladies Football in Seneschalstown last Saturday.
Proceedings threw in with a match between the Golden Oldies and the Spring Chicks in what was a most entertaining encounter.
Later that evening everybody retired back to Maguires Bar and Lounge for food before they danced the night away.
Photos from the day and night can be viewed on our Facebook Page.
AGM
Our AGM will be on Monday November 30th at 20:00. All welcome to attend.
Juvenile AGM
The AGM of the juvenile section of the club will be held in the clubhouse on Thursday November 26th at 20:00.
Mass for Deceased Members
Our annual mass for deceased club members will take place on Sunday November 29th in the Church of the Assumption Beauparc at 10:30.
U-17
With their Division 2A League Round 2 encounter with Navan O’Mahonys having fallen victim to the weather last Saturday our U-17s will be back in action this Sunday when taking on Simonstown Gaels in Fr. Tully Park at 11:00.
U-15
Navan O’Mahonys will be the opposition in the Division 2 League Final this evening (Thursday) in Skryne at 19:30. After being postponed last Friday it’s all systems go for this evening’s encounter.
When these sides met in Round 1 the Navan side took the points home from Fr. Tully Park but our boys have been improving steadily ever since and in their semi-final showed that they will keep battling until the very end of any game.
Navan O’Mahonys went through the group stages of the League unbeaten while our side only dropped points in that opening encounter.
Like always our supporters can be the proverbial 16th man and with their encouragement from the sideline our boys will be confident of picking up their second piece of silverware for the year so far following their seven a side Shield win back in June.
U-13
Our U-13’s will also be headed for Skryne this week when they take on their hosts in the Division 2 League semi-final on Friday evening. The Skryne side have forged an impressive path to the semi-final and defeated our team in Fr. Tully Park earlier in the season. There are few better times to turn the tables though than in a semi-final so the Seneschalstown boys will fancy their chances of causing an upset. Throw in is at 19:30 with all support welcomed.
Girls U-15
Following last weekend’s postponement our U-15 Girls will take on Oldcastle in the Meath Ladies U-15 Division 2 Shield Final on Saturday at 11:15 in Dunganny.
This group of girls have been working hard all year and when they met Oldcastle earlier in the season in Millbrook they were most unfortunate to lose out narrowly following a last minute free.
Last weekend the U-13’s had great support and no doubt this will be the same on Saturday as our great supporters descend on Dunganny again to cheer the girls on.
As was the case last Saturday there will once more be an admission charge of €5 per vehicle as the Meath Ladies Co. Board look to affray the cost of hiring Dunganny for the day and pay the referees.
Pitch Development
For many years now the club has been in need of a second playing pitch to cater for the large numbers of players we have lining out each year.
In total we have 24 sides between Men’s, Ladies and Juvenile which puts huge pressure on our current facilities.
This year we have been lucky to procure land adjacent to our current premises on which we will be developing an all-weather sand based floodlit pitch along with using some of the land we already own.
The total cost of this development will be €350,000 and to pay for this we are going to be embarking on a major fundraising drive.
Representatives from the club are currently calling to each house in the parish explaining why this pitch is needed and how people can help with our fundraising drive.
This new pitch will be a much needed addition to our facilities and will result in us having one of the finest playing pitches in the country.
Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 3, 20, 23 and 27. There was no winner of the jackpot of €9,900 which means next week’s jackpot will be worth €10,000. The 5 by €25 winners were Mal Hickey, John Reid, Anne Marie Macken, Stephen Mooney and K&E Bennett
Tickets for the Lotto are €2 or 3 for €5. They can be purchased from committee members, Lotto sellers, local shops or you can also play online at http://www.helpourclub.ie/localhome.asp?
