Anti-Bullying Workshop
On Thursday March 19th we will host an anti-bullying workshop which will be facilitated by John McHale. This is an excellent course and with bullying a very prevalent topic at the moment it is important that our coaches make a big effort to attend. It is limited to twenty four attendees on the night and places are filling up quickly. As we look to lead from the front as regards protecting the children in our care to the best of our ability it is a course that is sure to be beneficial. To book a place please contact Gerry McDonnell – 086 8239770.

100th Birthday

Her late brother Dermot Macken is a former Chairman of the club while her daughter in law Aileen is the current President of the Camogie Association. Some of Rosie’s great grandchildren are current juvenile players in our club.

Loreto
Well done to Loreto who defeated St. Augustine’s, Waterford in the All Ireland Senior semi-final on Saturday afternoon by 3-14 to 1-13 and now progress to the All-Ireland Final on Saturday week. Stacey Grimes, Ruth Commons, Róisín Commons & Orla McMahon all missed the Presentation Night on Frida due to the semi-final and this dedication was rewarded as they helped the school into the final. Róisín lined out at full back but found the time to venture forwards to net a valuable goal, Orla operated at left corner back, Ruth at left half back and Stacey at centre forward. Stacey finished the game with six points and was instrumental in many of the side’s best moves.

The Loreto Junior team will be next into action when they John the Baptist Community School, Limerick in the All Ireland semi-final at the weekend.

Róisín Commons as well as Orla McMahon and Sorcha Gough will represent the club on this team at the weekend. Best of luck to all the girls.
