Almost one week on from our very successful #FestivalOfFootball the club would once more like to put on record their thanks to all who made it possible.

Joe Sheridan put a huge amount of work into organising the day and it is thanks to him that we had speakers and coaching of the highest calibre.

Joe (Acorn Insurance – http://www.acornlife.ie/) and Tony McDonnell (http://www.globalelectrical.ie/) were then events main sponsors and their financial assistance was crucial in the success of the day.

Daniel Davey was first up with his presentation on nutrition and he certainly left us all with some food for thought. It was great to see such a large crowd in attendance for his presentation. Daniel is on Twitter (@FoodFlicker) and also on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Foodflicker?fref=ts) and there is no shortage of tempting ideas on both pages).

Next up was Meath footballer Mickey Burke who gave a coaching masterclass to many of our most promising players. Mickey imparted some excellent ideas to the players who were most appreciative.

Following on from this Paul Clarke (@matchfitireland on Twitter) gave a well received presentation on Strength and Conditioning. Paul is well recognised as a leading light in this area and it was excellent to hear his insights into S&C. Paul also has a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MatchFitIreland?fref=ts) and a website which is well worth checking out (http://www.match-fit-ireland.com/).

Legendary Meath GAA manager Sean Boylan was our guest speaker and true to form Sean gave a brilliant talk to an audience which was hanging on his every word. There could have been nobody better to finish up the mornings presentations.

The children from the Nursery section of the club took part in a fantastic Skills Circuit which was expertly organised by Norah Maguire.

Players then from U-12 level to Senior rounded off the days activities with a blitz on the main pitch. This blitz provided an excellent opportunity for our younger players to play on the same pitch as the older players in the club.

Our thanks also to everybody who provided food to keep all present well fed during the day and to those who worked like trojans in the kitchen serving the food as well as teas and coffees.

Last but not least we would also like to thank those who worked on the barbecue during the afternoon, rounding off the day and sending everybody home full.
