Festival of Football: On Saturday August 30th Fr. Tully Park will be a hive of activity as the club plays host to a Festival of Football. With events throwing in at 10:30 and continuing well into the afternoon it promises to be a very busy day.
First up on the day will be a presentation from the Dublin Senior team nutritionist Daniel Davey on the best foods our players at all levels to be eating. He will also advise as to which bars are best to eat for players.
Next up from 11:15-12:00 a professional Strength and Conditioning Coach will go through Strength and Conditioning with special focus on what should be done with teams from U-14 and upwards,
At twelve o’clock Graham Reilly, Michael Newman, Mickey Burke and Seamus Kenny of the Meath team will be present to take players from the U-14 to Minor panels for some specialised coaching in attack and defence.
Lunch will be served in the clubhouse at 13:00 while also at 13:00 our U-6, U-8 and U-10 players will partake in a Skills Activity Circuit.
From 14:00 a truly unique aspect of this Festival of Football will commence. Members of our teams from U-12 level to Senior will combine on teams as they partake in a Blitz competition. This will provide a fantastic opportunity for our stars of the future to play with and against the present day Senior stars who have won so many Senior Championships for the club.
From 16:30 to 17:15 there will be a guest speaker to address all present. The identity of this speaker has yet to be announced and should you correctly tweet us or comment on our Facebook page with the speakers identity then you will be entered into a draw for a prize on the day.
At the conclusion of the Festival the club will lay on a barbecue to ensure the day which began with a presentation from the Dublin Nutritionist will end with everybody well fed.
This day would not be possible without the hard work of Joe Sheridan in putting it all together. Joe is a brilliant clubman and is always eager to help with juvenile presentations or to drive the Club/School link at its outset. Our thanks also to Global Electrical who have come on board as the events main sponsor.
All sports organisations and groups in the parish are invited to attend this event and in particular the presentations by Daniel Davey and Colm Brady Fitness.
Senior Ladies: The Senior Ladies will aim to qualify for the Generali Pan Europe Meath Senior Football Championship Final when they play Na Fianna in the semi-final on Sunday afternoon at 16:30 in Fr. Tully Park.
They took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge at the weekend, challenging the Meath Ladies County Board and our Senior Mens panel to then take on the challenge for MND. The video of the challenge is available to watch on our Facebook page.
Senior: The Senior team take on Gaeil Colmcille in Round 5 of the Hoganstand.com Meath Senior Football Championship on Friday evening in Páirc Tailteann at 20:15.
Following their defeat to Simonstown Gaels in Round 4 direct qualification to the quarter finals is now beyond them but victory on Friday evening will secure their passage to the preliminary quarter final should Navan O’Mahony’s defeat Walterstown.
Following their call out from the ladies side to take on the Ice Bucket Challenge the mens team were only too willing to accept and on Monday evening they doused each other with icy water after training. Like the ladies challenge theirs can also be viewed on our Facebook page.
U-17: On Thursday evening at 19:15 in Fr. Tully Park the U-17 team will play host to Ratoath in the semi-final of the Division 4 League. The side came second in the group stage but after being lucky to come away from Ratoath with a one point victory earlier in the campaign will be well aware that a very difficult encounter awaits them on Thursday evening.
Under 14: The U-14 had a very busy week last week playing the semi-final and final of their Summer League in the space of four days.
On Wednesday evening they defeated Navan O’Mahonys in Fr. Tully Park by 4-12 to 3-12 after Ciaran Mongey sealed the victory with a sixty third minute point after surging forward from centre back. Corner back Fionn Hall prevented a couple of certain goals with brilliant goalline interventions while up front Ross Mullen excelled, scoring a goal and six points.
Then on Saturday afternoon they locked horns with St. Colmcilles in the league final in Duleek. After getting off to the brighter start they held a commanding lead after twenty two minutes but a goal surge from the Piltown side either side of half time saw our boys fall behind.
Cathal Hickey, Ciaran Mongey and Daire Finnegan continued to drive the team forward, showing excellent leadership attributes, but infortunately on the day the team came up short by five points against an excellent St. Colmcilles outfit.
The management team of Joe Moore, Jonathan Keating, Kieran Mulvany and Mal Hickey deserve great credit for the attractive style of football the team played all year and while they ended the season without a trophy there is little doubt that they have helped to develop a side which will bring back honours to the club in the future.
Also many thanks to Shane Mulvany who wrote many match reports for the teams matches throughout the year, helping to keep everybody in the club informed as to how the side were doing.

Fantasy Premier League: There is now a Seneschalstown League on the fantasy Premier League website. To join the club league enter the following code: 993283-302560. http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
Club Competition: There are less than two weeks left to get a photograph in for our Free 2015 Family Membership Competition.
All summer long we have been looking to spread the Seneschalstown gospel across the world.
We are looking for photos of our juvenile members on their holidays wearing their Seneschalstown gear. The photo could have been taken in Bundoran, Barcelona or Boston……
Another option would have been to take a photo at a famous landmark such as Buckingham Palace!
So far we’ve had entries in from the San Siro in Milan, a Water Park in France and Achill Island to name but a few.
The draw for the Free Family Membership for 2015 is planned to be held during the Nursery Coaching Session on Saturday September 6th.
Entries can be sent in via a private message to our Facebook Page or via email to our club PRO (brian.kelly987@gmail.com).
