Seneschalstown began their defence of the Division 1 league campaign with a comprehensive win over Simonstown in difficult conditions at Seneschalstown last Sunday. The current Leinster champions raced into an early lead and with Mary Sheridan (2) and Adele Carolan firing a hat-trick of goals between them, the home side led by 3-6 to 0-4 at half-time.

Seneschalstown began their defence of the Division 1 league campaign with a comprehensive win over Simonstown in difficult conditions at Seneschalstown last Sunday. The current Leinster champions raced into an early lead and with Mary Sheridan (2) and Adele Carolan firing a hat-trick of goals between them, the home side led by 3-6 to 0-4 at half-time.
Ruth Lynch and Grainne Nulty dominated the midfield exchanges, while Aoife Sheridan, Sally-Ann Carolan and Mary Sheridan created numerous problems for the town sides defence. County players Jackie Shields and Sinead Dooley posed threats for the home side however with Philomena Sheridan and Deborah Mangan excelling in defence, Simonstown struggled to close the gap. Best for Seneschalstown were Aoife Sheridan, Mary Sheridan, Sally-Ann Carolan and Lynch at midfield.
