Walterstown came out winners as they defeated the Yellow Furze side in Seneschalstown on Tuesday evening.
Walterstown opened the scoring on the 4 minute before Seneschalstown cancelled it out with a point from midfielder Stephen Finnegan on the 6 minute. The Blacks got 3 further points from play before Seneschalstown answered with 2 points from play from Gary Conlon and Peter Waters on the 13th and 14th minute respectively. But Walterstown were able to cancel out those points on the 15th and 16th minute of the match. Waters slotted over another point from free before the break of half time leaving Walterstown up by 4 points.
The Blacks opened the second half with a point from play in the opening minute. Seneschalstown reacted well with 2 frees from Waters on the 33rd and 36th minute. Walterstown had a goal chance on the 37th minute but went to the right and wide, but regained an opportunity on goal on the 39th minute when a high ball in caught by full forward Alban Crosbie who kicked the ball to the back of the net. A point from play from half back Joe Cowley on the 45th minute gave the Yellow Furze side momentum before a goal on the 47th minute from substitute Francis Sheridan leaving just a point between the sides. Walterstown secured victory on the 56th minute with a further point from play.
