Senior
Needing a win in the Hoganstand.com Meath SFC to boost their hopes of avoiding the relegation playoff when they played St. Patrick’s in Duleek on Saturday evening our Seniors duly delivered when they put in a stirring performance to overcome the Stamullen men by 1-11 to 1-08 on Saturday evening.
This result leaves them with their fate now in their own hands ahead of their Round 5 game against Ballinlough which will be played in Páirc Tailteann on Sunday August 23rd at 14:00.
Junior B
Our Junior B’s fell to defeat against Gaeil Colmcille in the fifth round of the Seamus Connolly Catering JBFC on Sunday when going under by 2-12 to 0-15. Defeat means the side came second in their group by virtue of having a one point inferior score difference to Slane and now they will face St. Patrick’s in the semi-final on Thursday August 20th at 19:30.
Before that the side will conclude their B League Division 1 campaign when playing host to St. Peter’s Dunboyne in a Round 9 game in Fr. Tully Park on Monday evening at 19:00.
Junior D
The Junior D side qualified for the semi-final of the Championship for the third consecutive year when overcoming Kilmainham by 1-16 to 2-08. With David Hosie and Eoin Finnegan leading the scoring charge up front ably assisted by substitute Jamsie Gillic they racked up an impressive score while the defence were in mean form as they restricted Kilmainham to just ten scores over the hour.
Next up for the side is a semi-final against Ratoath in Skryne on Saturday August at 16:45.
Minor
Our Minor side staged a dramatic late surge to overcome Blackwater Gaels by 2-11 to 1-12 in the Summer League semi-final on Monday evening in Fr. Tully Park. Trailing entering stoppage time Ryan O’Dowd tied the game up with a pointed free before Dylan Keating drilled a goal home to give his side a three point lead. Blackwater Gaels did manage to reduce the margin by a point before the final whistle sounded.
This puts the Minors into a final against either St. Michael’s or Summerhill.
