Boardsmill held on to come out winners against the Yellow Furze side in Seneschalstown on Wednesday evening.
Boardsmill opened the scoring on the 1st and 3rd minute of play with 2 points from play. Seneschalstown answered with a point from play from Tommy Duggan on the 6th minute. On the 8th minute the Yellow Furze side found the nets when full forward Alan Geraghty slotted the ball to the back of the net. Boardsmill scored a further point from play before another goal from Seneschalstown coming from corner forward Duggan on the 15th minute. Boardsmill responded well with a 3 points from play on the 17th, 20th and 28th minute respectively leaving just one point between the sides at the break of half time.
Boardsmill kicked off the second half with 2 points from play before a point from substitute Tony Mc Donnell on the 33rd minute. Boardsmill missed an opportunity on goal in the 37th minute but regained that opportunity in the 45th minute. Seneschalstown gained momentum and got a point from play on the 46th minute from Geraghty. The Yellow Furze side were then awarded a penalty when Mark Gleeson was brought down in the box but a deflection from a save from the Boardsmill goalie was gathered by Mc Donnell and kicked to the back of the net. A further point from play from James Gillic on the 49th minute left the side level but Boardsmill scored 2 further points from play. Mc Donnell kicked a further point from play on the 60th minute but Boardsmill finished with a 1 point lead.
