The old Irish saying, ‘Tús maith, leath na hoibre’ certainly rings through for this match as thanks to a blistering performance in the opening half Seneschalstown reached the interval with an eight point advantage, 1-11 to 1-03.
With that sizable advantage built up from the first half Seneschalstown were able to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the second period as they notched up a further 1-07 to secure a comfortable victory.
This victory was built on a very good team performance with the defence holding Summerhill to 1-06 over the hour while the the attack led by veteran corner forward Shane Clarke notched up an impressive total.
The two points garnered from this victory will be welcomed following a disappointing home defeat to Gaeil Colmcille in Round 1 and will hopefully lay a foundation to build on in the upcoming games as they build towards the Championship.
