Carnaross over came Seneschalstown in the Feis Cup on a blustery Sunday afternoon in Carnaross.
Carnaross started off the better with a goal and 2 points in the opening 4 minutes. The goal came on the 3 minute when a mistake in the Seneschalstown defence seen Carnaross take advantage and hit the back of the net. Seneschalstown opened there scoring on the 8 minute with a point from play from Shane Clarke quickly followed by a point from free on the 10 minute. Carnaross cancelled these out on the 12th and 15th minute respectively. The Yellow Furze side got 3 more points from Jonathan Gilsenan, Bryan Clarke and Damien Sheridan before the break of half time which left Carnaross up by 2 points.
Carnaross were first to get a score in the opening minute of the second half with a free from half forward John L Mc Gee. Senechalstown quickly answered this with a free from Bryan Clarke on the 32nd minute. Carnaross got a further free on the 34th minute which Mc Gee slotted over the bar before Seneschalstown got a well struck goal on the 39th minute from full forward Gilsenan. Two more points from frees from Mc Gee which were soon cancelled out by a free on the 47th minute from Bryan Clarke and another point from play from Peter Waters on the 53rd minute which seen the sides level with 7 minutes to go. But Carnaross finished off stronger with a fine goal on the 58th minute. Seneschalstown finished off the scoring on the 59th minute with a free from Bryan Clarke.
