Seneschalstown overcame Oldcastle at home in the first round of the Feis Cup on Saturday evening last.
Oldcastle were first on the scoreboard with a point from play in the opening minute. The home side soon cancelled this out with a point from 45 from full forward Stephen Finnegan on the 5th minute. Goal came for Oldcastle on the 10th minute but Seneschalstown reacted well and Finnegan just missed the back of the Oldcastle net on the 11th minute. Oldcastle conceeded frees which allowed corner forwards Shane Clarke and on form David Hosey kick over the bar on the 16th and 18th minutes. Oldcastle got 2 further points, 1 free, but Seneschalstown finished the scoring of the first half with points from play from Niall Groome, Clarke and Hosey on the 28th, 29th and 30th minutes leaving the sides level at the break of half time.
Oldcastle again were first on the scoreboard with a point from free on the 32nd minute and a point from play on the 34th minute. Seneschalstown went on a scoring spree with points from free and play on the 36th, 37th, 38th and 42nd minutes from Hosey and Adam Gleeson. Oldcastle got there last point of the match a free on the 47th minute. The Yellow Furze side got 3 further points, 2 frees, from Finnegan and Mark Carey on the 48th, 54th and 58th minutes.
