Royal Gaels 2-5 (17) Seneschalstown 1-4 (13)

Seneschalstown lost out to Royal Gaels in the first round of the u10 league at Dunshaughlin on Sat Apr 2nd. Heavy rain prior to the game made underfoot conditions a little slippy but both teams adapted well. Royal Gaels started the stronger and scored 2-1 in the opening 10 minutes. Seneschalstown eventually settled and Shauna Gordon opened Seneschalstowns account. Two further points from Sorcha Gough had the Seneschalstown girls leading 0-3 (9) to 2-1 (7) at the break. Just like the first half Royal Gaels started the stronger and got 2 early point to take the lead but good defending by the Seneschalstown backs kept them in touch. Sorcha Gough replied with 1-1 for Seneschalstown who were now beginning to win more possession. Royal Gaels scored 2 further points in the last 10 minutes to edge clear. Seneschalstown had some good chances near the end but alas on this occasion it wasn’t to be. Both sets of players deserve great credit for providing a very entertaining game.
