Seneschalstown 4-7 Boardsmill 1-10
Seneschalstown and Boardsmill played the u-13 girls division 1 final in St. Mary’s, Donore on Thursday 18th November. This proved to be a closely contested final where both sides took some very fine scores. Seneschalstown took the lead with a well-taken goal from Aisling Taaffe followed by a point from Amy Gilsenan. Boardsmill however were quick to reply with well taken points. Stacey Grimes from Seneschalstown, who dominated midfield kicked some fine frees. The teams were level 1-5 to 0-8 at half time.
The second half performances from both teams were superb. After Amy Gilsenan netted a fine goal shortly into the second half, Boardsmill quickly replied with a goal of their own.
It was anybody’s game up until the 60th minute but further goals from Gilsenan and Sarah Donnelly proved decisive. The win was sealed with further points from Jamie O’Mara and Gilsenan. Seneschalstown had some fine performances from Zoey Enright, Roisin Commins and Natasha Mullen in defence.
It was undoubtedly one of the most entertaining matches of the season with very fine skills on display. Seneschalstown will now represent Meath in the u-14 Feile in Cork in 2011.
