Seneschalstown suffered there first defeat in the3rd round of the Junior B Group A Championship to a strong Clonard side in Dunsany on Friday evening.
Seneschalstown opened with two points from Johnny Gilsenan (1 free) and a point from play from midfielder David Matthews before Clonard responded with two points from play. Seneschalstown got a further point on the 20th minute from corner forward Paul Garry. Clonard notched up 3 more points from play which left them one point up goin into the break.

The Yellow Furze side opened the second half with a free on the 36th minute from Johnny Gilsenan. But on the 42nd minute a high ball in looked to be cleared by the Seneschalstown goalie Ross Walsh, Clonard took advantage and stuck the ball to the back of the net leaving them 5 points up.Gilsenan had a chance on goal on the 44th minute but to Clonard’s relief stuck the crossbar. A point from play from substitute David Hosey on the 45th minute and free on the 49th minute from Gilsenan narrowed the gap but Clonard were on top and scored a further 3 points (2 frees). Seneschalstown had a couple of late rallys and came out with 2 more points on the 60th and 61st minute from Gilsenan and substitute Stephen Dillon. Clonard cancelled these with 2 more points from play leaving them 6 points up on the final whistle.
