Dunshaughlin got their B League campaign of to the best possible start claiming full points at a wet and windy Seneschalstown on Sunday morning.

Dunshaughlin led at the half-time break 0-08 to 0-06 after dominating for long periods and probably should have been further ahead at the break had they converted all their chances. David McCormack opened the scoring and points from Declan O?Dwyer and David Devereaux followed soon after. Seneschalstown opened their account with a point after a shot on goal was tipped over by Dunshaughlin keeper Noel McTigue. Michael Johnson restored Dunshaughlin?s three point lead before Seneschalstown pulled two points back in quick succession to leave just the minimum between the sides. Points from Declan O?Dwyer and David Tonge pushed Dunshaughlin further ahead before Michael Johnson scored another two to leave Dunshaughlin in a commanding position approaching the break. But the home side pulled two points back from frees in the closing stages to leave just two points between the sides at the turnaround.

Seneschalstown got about their business straight after the break and tied up the scores within ten minutes of the restart. With the match in the balance the on song Declan O?Dwyer turned the game in the away sides favour with three points in a row, one a fantastic effort from a 45. David McCormack followed up with a point before the ever alert Conor Staunton latched on to the end of a good move to shoot to the net, putting the visitors up by seven entering the last ten minutes. Seneschalstown did score another point but Michael Johnson replied with a goal and a point of his own before David Tonge finished the scoring with the last point of the game.

A good win for Dunshaughlin after and impressive second half performance. Best for Dunshaughlin were Kevin Moyles, Ronnie Yore, David Tonge, Michael Johnson and Declan O’Dwyer.
