Seneschalstown withstood a late Meath Hill revival to collect 2 valuable away points. The foundation of this victory was laid in the first half while playing with a stiffing breeze in which goals from Francis Sheridan and Ollie Finnegan and the midfield dominance of Robert Ruddy and Seamus O’Brien helped the furze to a 2-6 to 1-2 interval lead. Playing into the breeze after the break and some poor shooting hindered then winners from further extending their lead but still had a healthy lead of 2-8 to 1-5 with 15 mins

The home side started their comeback with a goal and had the winners defence under great pressure but in the end stout defending from the winners ensured a deserved victory on the day. Best for the winners were Robert Ruddy, Seamus O’Brien, Colin Gleeson, Stephen Finnegan and the excellent Michael Mullen.
