Ladies 20th Anniversary Celebrations
Back in 1995 as the club celebrated winning the previous year’s Meath SFC our previously disbanded Ladies Football team was reformed thanks largely to the driving efforts of Dearbhla O’Carroll.

Few back then could have ever envisaged how successful the club would go on to be in the following twenty years as we went on to claim thirteen Senior Football Championships, one Leinster Championship and one Junior Football Championship as well as being defeated in the 2003 All Ireland Championship. To add to that they won the 2010 All Ireland seven-a-side competition.

Over the years many players from the club have also represented Meath from U-12 right through to Senior level including players of the calibre of Deborah Mangan, Louise McKeever and Fiona Mahon to name but three.
Now on Saturday November 14th these wonderful twenty years will be remembered as first there is a match between the 1995 and 2015 sides takes place on the pitch beside Kentstown NS at 14:00 and then that evening there will be a social in Maguires Bar and Lounge Kentstown.

The program of events is as follows –
Kick-off: 2pm at Kentstown School Pitch

Please join us for an exhibition of juvenile football followed by an epic battle between the
Golden Oldies(95′ team)
V
Spring Chickens(15′ team)

Drinks reception @ 7pm in Maguires followed by a post-match post mortem and blast from the last 20 years of football!

Juvenile Meeting
There will be a Juvenile Meeting in the clubhouse on Monday November 9th at 20:00. This meeting is mandatory for all coaches and anybody interested in being involved with a team in 2016.

Entitled “Music & Mistletoe” this promises to be an enchanting Christmas Concert with Classics from Movies, Musicals and Much Much More being performed by this most talented family.
Tickets for the Concerts are priced at only €25 and with memories of their shows in 2013 and 2014 still being fondly talked about are sure to sell out in record time.
Taking place just over two weeks before Christmas these promise to be the perfect way to get into the festive spirit.

U-21
Following their epic 5-10 to 3-16 draw with Skryne in last Sunday’s Coolrite Refrigeration U-21 Championship quarter final out U-21’s will play them in the replay on Sunday at 14:00 in Walterstown. If Game 1 was a belter the sequel also promises to be brilliant and no doubt we will once more have a large crowd supporting our team.

U-17
In their opening round game of the U-17 League played on Wednesday night our side emerged victorious on a 3-14 to 2-14 score line against St. Oliver’s.

In a game which marked the welcome return to action of Adam McCabe and Marc Horrigan, Cathal Finnegan took the scoring honours with 3-04.

U-15
Last Sunday morning saw Walterstown come to Fr. Tully Park intent on toppling our youngsters in the Division 2 League semi-final and for large parts of the gam it looked like they would do so. However the character of Joe Finnegan’s side shone through as they battled back from six points behind at half time and four down in extra time to eventually win out by 2-13 to 2-12.

Over the course of the game they were particularly well served by Ciaran Lynch, Jamie Kirwan, Joseph Moore, Alan Mulvany and Cillian Gormley.

U-13
The U-13’s will next be out in action on Sunday morning when they take on Summerhill in an away game. Throw in is at 10:30.

U-11
Last Friday the U-11’s took on Trim in Trim and while the result didn’t go their way this is secondary at this age level. More important is the players developing their skills and their coaches couldn’t be happier with how this young outfit are progressing.

Next up is an away game against St. Colmcilles on Monday at 19:15 in Piltown.

Girls U-13
The U-13 Division 2 Championship Final against St. Colmcilles will be played on Saturday at 14:00 in Dunganny.

This is a very special group of girls who are supremely talented and always play the game in the right spirit. They have been desperately unlucky thus in finals with the last hurdle proving to be a stumbling point on more than one occasion. St. Colmcilles will provide stiff opposition on Saturday but there is little doubt that our girls have what it takes to win.

If ever there was a side that deserve that extra bit of support to cheer them on it is this group. Admission to Dunganny is only €5 per car which is very little to see another cup hopefully being brought back to Fr. Tully Park.

Ladies Football Training Times
Girls U-13 training is on Mondays from 19:00 – 20:00
Girls U-15 training is on Wednesdays from 18:30 – 19:30

Pitch Development
For many years now the club has been in need of a second playing pitch to cater for the large numbers of players we have lining out each year.
In total we have 24 sides between Men’s, Ladies and Juvenile which puts huge pressure on our current facilities.
This year we have been lucky to procure land adjacent to our current premises on which we will be developing an all-weather sand based floodlit pitch along with using some of the land we already own.
The total cost of this development will be €350,000 and to pay for this we are going to be embarking on a major fundraising drive.
Representatives from the club are currently calling to each house in the parish explaining why this pitch is needed and how people can help with our fundraising drive.
This new pitch will be a much needed addition to our facilities and will result in us having one of the finest playing pitches in the country.

Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 3, 5, 10 and 27. There was no winner of the jackpot of €9,700 which means next week’s jackpot will be worth €9,800. The 5 by €25 winners were Michael Carolan, Angela Gray, Ann Byrne, Keith Finnegan and David Finnegan

Tickets for the Lotto are €2 or 3 for €5. They can be purchased from committee members, Lotto sellers, local shops or you can also play online at http://www.helpourclub.ie/localhome.asp?

Meath Ladies Minors
The Meath Ladies Minors had a very successful season this year with our very own Róisín Commons a key member of their Leinster Championship winning panel.
Preparations are already underway for next year’s Championship with trials scheduled to continue this Saturday, November 7th at 10:30 in Drumree.
The manager for next year is Boardsmill’s Eamon Murray who was also in charge this year.
Any of our very talented players who are eligible for the Minor grade next year are encouraged to attend.

Meath Ladies Awards
Congratulations to Stacey Grimes who has been nominated for Player of the Year from the Coca Cola Meath Senior Football Championship.

Cumann na mBunscol
A massive congratulations to the Girls from Yellow Furze NS who yesterday qualified for the Cumann na mBunscol Final when overcoming Gaelscoil na Boinne in Trim.
The fixture details for the final are yet to be confirmed but we’ll have them here as soon as we know them.
The girls are looking to make it three titles in a row which just proves the wonderful work being done there by Ms. Halpenny and also the coaches from our Club/School Link.
