Seneschalstown 5-13 Skryne 5-03.
Seneschalstown clinically overcame Skryne in Thursday evening’s Under 14 clash in Seneschalstown.
Seneschalstown rattled off the first three points of the game through full forward Sean Commons (2) and wing forward Sean Carey. However Skryne netted a 9th minute major to level things up. The hosts then resumed normal service when Dylan Keating and Alan Mulvany each split the posts. It got even better when Ross Mullen finished low to the visitors net after good work from Keating and Mulvany.

It got even better when Ross Mullen finished low to the visitors net after good work from Keating and Mulvany.
Skryne did reply with a point but Sean Commons buried the ball to the net to open up an 8 point gap. This was then stretched to ten when Adam O’Mara and Mulvany pointed. Then in less than a minute of each other, the teams swapped goals with Ciaran Mongey dispatching the ball to the corner of the net after a sweeping up-field move. The half finished with a pair of points from Seneschalstown corner forwards Mullen and Cillian Gormley.
Half Time: Seneschalstown 3-08 Skryne 2-01.
Both teams traded points in the opening exchanges of the second period with Mulvany hitting a nice score of his left boot. However Seneschalstown hit a fifteen minute barren spell as Skryne hit 1-1 but never threatened a comeback. Seneschalstown then hit 2-4 including points from Mulvany and Keating.
The goal of the game arrived in the 49th minute. Daire Finnegan won a ball in defence. His kick pass found Keating who in turn off loaded to Mulvany. He gave it to O’Mara who came through like a steam train. O’Mara passed to Gormley who bet the keeper at the near post. Joseph Moore added Seneschalstown’s last score of the game which was a goal.
It was an impressive performance made even better by the fact that all 5-13 came from play. A trip to Ratoath on Saturday brings a busy week to a close.
