U-16 Spring League Division 3 Round 5

Carnaross 1-10 Seneschalstown 5-09

Seneschalstown U-16’s continued their good run of form with a well-deserved away victory over Carnaross in their final league game of the division on a scoreline of 5-09 to 1-10 last Tuesday evening.

Having shown a keen eye for goals during their victory last week the Seneschalstown forwards showed once more that they know how to find the back of the net during the first half. Eoin Finnegan and Alan Mulvany giving cause for the green flag to be raised during this period. At half time the Seneschalstown youngsters were well in the ascendency.

In the second half Robert Wogan notched further goals while substitute Naois Sweeney chipped in with one. These majors were supplemented by minors from Eoin and Cathal Finnegan as Seneschalstown ran out victors by eleven points.

This was a very good all round performance and the strength of the panel was boosted by the welcome return to action of Cory McCarthy.

Next up is a trip to Moynalvey next Tuesday evening to take on Jenkinstown Gaels in a semi-final. When the teams met in Round 1 Jenkinstown Gaels won by 0-17 to 3-07 in a game also played in Moynalvey so Seneschalstown will be looking to atone for that loss.
