Seneschalstown returned to winning ways with victory over O’Mahony’s on Sunday morning in this A FL Div1 match.
The Furze men opening the scoring of this keenly contested match in the first few minutes and they lead by 0-6 to 0-4 at the break thanks to their more direct approach. David Hosie availed of an error by visiting ‘keeper David Geraghty to send the ball to the net and put the home side in front for the first time ten minutes after the restart, but over elaboration in promising situations condemned Brendan Murray’s men to their third defeat from four starts. However the game was only really decided with eight minutes remaining when a cleverly punched goal by Joe Sheridan sealed victory for Seneschalstown. Shane Clarke had an oustanding game, not only contributing vital scores but providing good support and an outlet for his defenders.
