Seniors: The Senior football team commenced their Seamus Connolly Catering All County Football A League Division 1 campaign on Sunday last with a trip to Millbrook to play Oldcastle. Following a tough battle over the hour the 2 points made their way back to the banks of the Boyne after we emerged victorious on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-09. Jonathan Gilsenan top scored with 1-02 while Bryan Clarke, James Meade and Joe Sheridan notched 3 points apiece.
On Sunday next the team entertain the Graham Geraghty managed Duleek Bellewstown in what is sure to be a tightly contested local derby. Throw in is scheduled for 14.30 in Seneschalstown with Patrick Coyle down to referee.

Minor: The Spring League commenced last Sunday morning with a home game against St. Michael’s in Division 2. Having led for most of the game we conceded 1-01 in injury time to lose out by a point. In Round 2 of the league we are scheduled to play St. Patrick’s in Stamullen tomorrow evening, Wednesday February 19th at 19.30.
Under 12: Coaching for the U12 panel commenced last Wednesday at 18.30 in the clubhouse. On what was a terrible night the high level of attendance was a credit to the commitment of the players and our thanks go to the parents who drove them to training in the poor conditions. There is no coaching this week. Coaching will resume on Wednesday February 26th.
Under 10: Coaching for the U10 panel is scheduled to commence in early to mid March.
Under 8: Coaching for the U8 panel is scheduled to commence in mid March.
Under 6: Coaching for the U6’s will also commence in mid March.
Senior Ladies: Both players and management would like to thank all who kindly donated the many cakes, buns and treats for our recent Fundraising Cake Sale held in Beauparc Church Hall. The funds raised will go towards the players expense’s in this year’s campaign. We would also like to thank all those who supported the Cake Sale by purchasing the goods.
General Meeting: Last week’s General Meeting was postponed due to the poor weather on Wednesday and has been rescheduled for Monday February 24th at 20.00 in the clubhouse.
Lotto: The numbers drawn in this weeks Lotto were 2, 17,18, 22 with the Bonus Number being 9. There was no winner of this weeks jackpot of €1,000 so next weeks jackpot will be worth €1,100 and the Bonus Number worth 1,000. The 5 x €25 winners this week are; Violet Brien, Thomas Reilly, John Commons, Ann Mahon, Ann Gorman.

Strictly Come Dancing: Following its fantastic success Strictly Come Dancing is back. All roads lead once again to Simonstown where the 12 couples will strive to be crowned the 2014 winners. Last year Paul Finnegan and Roz Nolan reigned supreme after a great nights entertainment. The 12 couples were announced at the Launch Night in Maguires Bar and Lounge in Kentstown on Friday January 17th and are as follows;
TEAM JIVE – Nicola Finnegan & Johnny Gilsenan, Michelle McCabe & Robert Darby, Ger Reilly & Tony McDonnell, Debbie Mangan & Jonathan Keating.
TEAM SALSA – Anita Carolan & Padraig Traynor, Susan Tighe & Wayne Smith, Louise Kirwan & Liam Conlon, Aoife Kieran & Paul Collier.
TEAM CHA CHA – Liz Sheridan & Phonsie Gilsenan, Abby Butler & Louis McAuley, Bridie Marry-Wogan & Padraic Fox, Cathriona Reilly & Joe Finnegan.
Tickets for the event are €20 and are available from all committee members and also the dancers.
GAA National Club Draw: The football club is taking part in the National Club Draw. Tickets for this draw are priced at €10 and are available from all committee members with all money generated from sales going directly to the club. The prizes are excellent and include a trip to the 2014 International Rules Series in Australia for 2 people, 2 Premium Level tickets for the All Ireland Football and Hurling Finals as well as 8 other outstanding prizes. Tickets for this draw are due to be returned to club Treasurer Pat Clarke by Friday February 28th.

Strength & Conditioning ‘Power Hour’: This week’s S & C session saw the U-14’s take on a fitness test. Each participant now has a benchmark from which we hope to see improvements as the season progresses. Next to take this test will be the U-16’s. The aim of this test is to aid both the mentors and players and hopefully adapt training sessions in the future to help improve player welfare.
Meath: Well done to the Meath Ladies Senior team who defeated Kildare in Round 3 of the Tesco National Football League Division 2 and to Stephanie Byrne who came on as a second half substitute.
Congratulations to Amy Gilsenan who represented the club in the recent Meath Minor game versus Laois, scoring a very creditable 1-05 and by all accounts being instrumental in the win! The final score was Meath 5-08 Laois 1-09.
Well done to the Meath minors who defeated Limerick in the Second Round of the Leinster Minor League.
St. Patrick’s Classical School: Congratulations to St. Patrick’s Classical School who defeated Rochfortbridge in the Leinster Championship last week and advance to play Colaiste Eoin of Stillorgan in the semi-final. Sean Noonan played at right half forward before having to go off injured in the second half having picked up a knock while Adam Carey came on in the ninth minute. The semi-final is scheduled for March 1st, with the venue and time yet to be announced.
Social Dance Lessons: Paul Finnegan is organizing Social Dance Lessons in the clubhouse each Sunday evening at 20.00. The classes are run on a fun and relaxed basis. For further information contact Paul: 086 8152882
