Seneschalstown 1-8 Duleek/Bellewstown 1-11
Duleek/Bellewstown continued their winning ways as they overcame the senior champions in a very tight Division 1 encounter on a blustery Sunday afternoon in Seneschalstown.
Manager Colm Nally will be delighted with this performance but a lot of credit will have to go to the late substitute, Darren Mills as he reacted hastily to an error made in the Seneschalstown defence and blasted a loose ball to the net late on in the game to secure the points for the Eastmeath men.

Duleek/Bellewstown continued their winning ways as they overcame the senior champions in a very tight Division 1 encounter on a blustery Sunday afternoon in Seneschalstown.

Duleek/Bellewstown were playing with a strong breeze to their advantage in the opening half. Chris Carney opened up Duleek/Bellewstown’s scoring account as he pointed from close range after good work from midfielder Karl Mc Donnell set him through. The on form Peter Curran opened up his scoring tally as he pointed from a fifty moments later.
Further points from Podge Howard and four from Peter Curran gave Duleek/Bellewstown a five point cushion at the interval, the score Duleek/Bellewstown 0-07 to Seneschalstown 0-02.
The senior champions were quickest off the mark in the second half as Brian Clarke fired over a fine placed kick from 50 yards out after 3 minutes of play. Peter Curran reacted almost immediately at the opposite end of the pitch as he fired over another free kick for the men in green and gold.
Seneschalstown dominated the next 15 minutes of play as they secured 1-03 in that period without reply from Duleek/Bellewstown, the goal coming from a well taken penalty by Joe Sheridan. An excellent and vital point from substitute James Deveraux gave Duleek/Bellewstown a new lease of life. Peter Curran stepped up to the mark again and notched another point for his side late in the game but it was a goal from Darren Mills two minutes into injury that gave the newly amalgamated club three more well earned points. A defensive mix-up allowed the newly formed combination grab a winning goal two minutes into injury-time and condemn Seneschalstown to their second defeat.
Donard Ferguson played a man of the match role in the half back line, while Karl McDonnell and Tony Cunningham once again dominated in midfield. Peter Curran, Mark Collins and James Deveraux shone in attack.
