Shield Final: Seneschalstown (Meath) 3-8 Donaghmoyne (Monaghan) 3-8 (Seneschalstown win on free kicks)
Seneschalstown were six points down with 1 and a half minutes left, however goals from Louise McKeever and Mary Sheridan in the final minute drew the sides level at full time. Seneschalstown and Donaghmoyne (All-Ireland Senior Club Champions 2006) had 5 free kicks each to decide the winner and the Meath side scored the only point (from 10 free kicks) from both sides by Eimear O’ Carroll to emerge victorious. An injury sustained to the Yellow Furze goalkeeper Louise Byrne in the group stages however was a setback ahead of their Leinster Senior Club Championship campaign. Seneschalstown are fixed to play Naomh Malachy (Louth) in the Leinster Senior Club quarter-final on Friday 5th October in Dundalk (venue TBA) @ 8pm.
