Seneschalstown started well with Roisin Nulty and Fiona Mahon dominating the midfield exchanges and Seneschalstown enjoyed a lot of possession before Eimear O’ Carroll opened the scoring with a point from play. Further points from Nulty, Mahon (2), Stephanie Byrne and subsitute Emma Harris increased the Yellow Furze sides lead while Na Fianna struggled to break through the Seneschalstown defence and could only account for a single point in the first half leaving Seneschalstown ahead by 0-8 to 0-1 at half-time. The half back line of Deborah Dillon, Adele Carolan and Captain Linda Quinn were outstanding in the opening half and picked up alot of possession around the middle of the field.
Na Fianna rallied in the 3rd quarter and worked hard to reduce the deficit however a number of fine saves from goalkeeper Anita McCluskey and good defending from Dearbhla O’ Carroll, Elaine Byrne and subsitute Aurlita Everard denied the South Meath side from getting that much needed goal. Seneschalstown responded with points from Mahon and O’ Carroll while Louise Byrne put her name on the score sheet when she lobbed the Na Fianna keeper to score the games only goal. Na Fianna failed to give up and scored a few late points however Seneschalstown emerged deserving winners to complete a treble for the club in their first success in the Feis Cup competition. Captain Linda Quinn accepted the Feis Cup on behalf of the Seneschalstown team.
