Fiona Mahon led the way for the Meath champions in the first half with 5 points to her credit however the home sides defence caused problems for the Yellow furze side who were guilty of 9 wides in the opening half.

Mary Sheridan, Eimear O’ Carroll and Stephanie Byrne added points to leave the visitors leading by 0-8 to 0-1 at the interval with Naomh Malachys only score coming from a pointed free. Seneschalstown were also unlucky to have centreback Louise McKeever sinned binned mid-way through the half, which forced them to make necessary changes.

Goals from corner forwards Adele Carolan (2) and O’ Carroll increased the Seneschalstown sides lead and killed off any hopes Naomh Malachy had of a revival. Mary and Siobhan Sheridan dominated the midfield exchanges with the outstanding Mahon always in support while Louise McKeever and Philomena Sheridan were solid in defence. Seneschalstown failed to let the foggy conditions upset the run of play and further points from O’ Carroll and Mahon sealed victory. Best for the Meath side were Philomena & Mary Sheridan, McKeever, Byrne, Mahon and Adele Carolan.
