Defending champions Seneschalstown had a comprehensive win over Summerhill in this one-sided semi-final of the Meath SFC held at Simonstown on Sunday evening. The 2005 and 2006 Meath champions dominated throughout with Jenny Rispin the only player to register a score for the losing side. Eimear O‘Carroll opened the scoring with the first 3 points of the game and with Fiona Mahon caused problems for the Summerhill rearguard. Grainne Nulty and Mary Sheridan dominated the midfield exchanges and centre-back Louise McKeever made a great run and unleashed a powerful shot past the Summerhill keeper leaving the Yellow-Furze side well in front at the interval (1-13 to 0-00).
Emma Harris again increased the defending champions lead with a ‘soccer’ style shot immediately following the break and corner back Debbie Dillon added another, lobbing the Summerhill keeper from 21 yards. Further points from O’ Carroll, Mahon , Sheridan , Stephanie Byrne and Adele Carolan secured the Seneschalstown sides place in their third final in 3 years. Best for the winners were Philomena Sheridan, Grainne and Roisin Nulty, Dillon, McKeever and Mahon and O’ Carroll in attack.
Seneschalstown now meet the winners of Blackhaul Gaels/ St. Ultans in the final.
