Senior: Our Senior team won their eighth ever Feis Cup last Friday when they defeated St. Peter’s Dunboyne by one point after an epic encounter. Dunboyne led by two points after forty nine minutes but a pointed free from Bryan Clarke who ended the evening with six points and a penalty from Brian Sheridan after a foul on James Meade saw Seneschalstown edge ahead. Donal Lenihan pulled a point back late on for Dunboyne but they ran out of time as Patrick Neilis blew the full time whistle to see Seneschalstown hold on to triumph.

Seneschalstown Scorers: Brian Sheridan 2-01 (1-00 penalty), Bryan Clarke 0-06 (0-03 Frees), Joe Sheridan 0-04, Niall Groome 0-01, Damien Sheridan 0-01.

Seneschalstown: David Lyons, Gerry Sheridan, Joe Cowley, Paul Carey, Mark Carey, Cormac Noonan, Niall Groome, Brian Sheridan, Damien Sheridan, Ross Howard, Ciaran Macken, James Byrne, Robert Ruddy, Joe Sheridan, Bryan Clarke.

Seneschalstown Substitutions: James Meade for R. Howard 33 mins, Andrew Collins for R. Ruddy 38 mins, Sean Noonan for M. Carey 43mins, Niall Lyons for C. Macken 49 mins.

Ciaran Macken: Following a lengthy and successful career with our senior team Ciaran Macken announced his retirement from playing at the top level of club football following the Feis Cup victory.

Ciaran of course was Captain Fantastic in 2009 when we won the Keegan Cup but he will be remembered mostly as the man who proved to be the final piece in the jigsaw when flown home from Australia to play in the replayed final and help us win our third ever Meath Senior Football Championship in 2007.

Ciaran could always be relied upon to give 100% and was a true leader for the seniors.

We would like to thank Ciaran for his efforts over the years, one of the greatest to wear the Seneschalstown senior jersey.

Junior B: The only place to be this Friday night at 20:15 will be Páirc Tailteann as our Junior B team take on Wolfe Tones in the Seamus Connolly Catering Meath Junior B Football Championship Final. We last won this competition in 1996 when Ollie Mulvany lifted the cup.

This year the cup is for the first time named after Fr. Tully whom our football pitch is also named in honour of and it would be a fitting way to honour him were we to be victorious on Friday night.

Minor: Our Minor team won their first round encounter with Gaeil Colmcille last Saturday afternoon when coming out on top by 3-14 to 1-08.

Next up will be a match away to St. Vincents/Curraha or Trim on Friday October 3rd at 19:30.

U-15: Our difficult start to the U-15 League continued on Saturday when the team were beaten by Navan O’Mahonys.

U-13: The U-13 team travelled to Enfield on Monday evening where they lost out to Na Fianna by 3-15 to 3-13 following a brilliant match.

This Sunday they have a home match against Skryne on Sunday at 11:00.

U-11: Our U-11 team had an excellent match against Wolfe Tones in Gibbstown last Wednesday. Following a tight encounter the boys got a few late scores to come away with the win.

Seneschalstown Nursery: The U-8 and U-10 teams had a Go Games Blitz in Fr. Tully Park on Saturday morning. All the children got plenty of action with a very high standard of play on view.

Our thanks to Aoibhe and Caragh Monaghan for their photography work during the morning.

The U-6, U-8 and U-10 teams will have coaching in Fr. Tully Park this Saturday at 11:00.

Girls U-13: The U-13 Girls team had a superb win away to Summerhill on Sunday evening. In a game which was much closer than the scoreline suggests they won by 3-09 to 1-00.

Girls U-13 coaching continues on Wednesdays from 18.30 to 19.30.

Girls U-11: Girls U-11 training continues on Monday nights from 18:30 to 19:30.

Girls U-9: Girls U-9 training is also now on Mondays from 18:30 to 19:30. New members welcome. Contact Ollie Mulvany @ 086 8565541 for further details.
