Festival of Football
Last Saturday’s Festival of Football was a truly wonderful occasion but this wouldn’t have been possible without hard work and community effort made by so many groups and individuals.
From the gorgeous food cooked on the barbecue by the local scout group and very generously donated by Windmill Nursery & Montessori School, the extraordinarily talented K&S Accordion Band who led the parade of teams, the Beauparc Active Retirement Group who put on a display of Bocce, Joe Cowley for providing the drone to record footage of the world record attempt to Sean Carrie who provided the sound.
As well as all these the parents in our club once more excelled with the amount of buns, cakes and other foodstuffs which they provided.
Also Jennifer Monaghan who spent her day taking brilliant photographs, expertly capturing the fun that was enjoyed on a super day.
To all these groups and individuals we are very grateful for the efforts you made to ensure that the Festival of Football was such a brilliant day.
Junior B
Following their quarter final victory over St. Patrick’s our Junior B side take on neighbours Slane in the semi-final of the Seamus Connolly Catering Junior B Football Championship this Sunday. Throw in is at 12:00 in Trim and the game is sure to be a cracker.
When the sides met earlier in the year we won out by a solitary point, 2-11 to 1-13 and another very close game is anticipated on Sunday.
Junior D
The final of the Junior D Football Championship takes place on Saturday and providing the opposition will be Curraha. Having been beaten in the final in 2013 and semi-final in 2014 our Junior D’s will be looking to make that final step and get to lift the cup for the second ever time, having first won it in 2003.
This year’s final will take place in Páirc Tailteann and throw in is at 16:00 on Saturday.
U-21
We are delighted to announce that Mattie McCabe will be our U-21 manager for the forthcoming Championship. Mattie will be assisted by Greg Lyons and Colin Clarke.
Minor
Following their 2-08 to 5-12 defeat to Summerhill in the Summer League Final last week our Minors will look to get their LMFM Division 3 Championship campaign off to a positive start on Friday week when they take on Duleek/Bellewstown in Duleek in the opening round.
U-15
The commencement of the U-15 League has been postponed by a week and will now commence on Sunday September 13th. The team will ply their trade in Division 2 alongside Navan O’Mahonys, Ballivor, St. Colmcilles, Rathkenny and Walterstown. First up will be Navan O’Mahonys in Fr. Tully Park at 11:00 on Sunday September 13th.
U-14
Seneschalstown U-14’s reached the finals of the County 7 a-side Tournament held in Dunganny last Saturday 29th August with two groups of four teams involved.
Seneschalstown’s first game was against a very lively Summerhill team but once the Seneschalstown players got to the pitch of the game they ran out winners by 0-14 to 0-06.
In the second game we played Dunderry, again the game was played at a frantic pace with Dunderry scoring two frees off the ground to give them four points but again the Seneschalstown lads had too much in the tank and again ran out winners by 0-16 to 0-08.
The third and last group game was against Castletown and again the Seneschalstown lads were tested all the way with some great scores taken by both teams but Seneschalstown eventually ran out winners on a 0-11 to 0-02 score line.
This left us top of Group A and consequently played St Vincents/Curraha in the semi-final who were runners up in Group B, and needless to say this was another step up in tempo and workrate but with a high Seneschalstown tackle rate the turnovers came and this was the winning of the game on a final score of 0-14 to 0-07.
The final was contested by the same two teams as the regional qualifier held in Seneschalstown a week earlier when Seneschalstown eventually won out after a 20 metre kick off. Walterstown came through their group and semi-final also unbeaten and the final was a cracking game once again. Walterstown hit the ground running in the first half and scoring freely compared to Seneschalstown, who just never got going in that half and went in six points down at half time on a score line of Walterstown 0-08 Seneschalstown 0-02.
But these Seneschalstown lads are a resilient group and really took the game to Walterstown from the word go in the second half registering four unanswered points within 3 minutes, then Walterstown got two points to leave the margin at four points with only minutes remaining. Seneschalstown then scored two more points but unfortunately ran out of time and Walterstown eventually ran out two point winners and consequently gained revenge for the previous weeks defeat.
Final Score Walterstown 0-10 Seneschalstown 0-08.
Both teams served up a feast of good football and all the teams who stayed to watch the final really got value for money with the result in the balance to the final whistle.

U-13
Our U-13 side took on Walterstown in a Challenge game on Sunday morning in Fr. Tully Park as they look to continue their preparation for the upcoming League. Following an excellent match they narrowly won out. Photos from the game can be seen on our Facebook page.
U-12
Our U-12 side will take part in an exhibition game at half time of the Junior D Final in Páirc Tailteann on Saturday afternoon.
Seneschalstown Nursery
Last Saturday our U-8’s travelled to Tullyallen to take part in a Tournament having being extended an invitation by our former senior manager Dermot Smith.
On the day we entered two sides with ten on one and eleven on the other. With O’Dwyers from Balbriggan, Killeavy from Armagh, the host club Glen Emmets and ourselves this was an excellently organised tournament.
One of our sides won two games and drew one in the group stage before losing out to Killeavy in the semi-final. The other side lost one group game and won the other two before progressing to the final where Killeavy also came out on top.
On the day there were no medals given out, every player in attendance received a goody bag in recognition of their good play throughout the day instead. In recognition of the wonderful skills and sportsmanship which our players showed throughout the morning our U-8’s did receive a Shield which was proudly brought back to Fr. Tully Park and shown off during the parade at the Festival of Football.

This week our U-6, U-8 and U-10 sides will have coaching in Kentstown at 10:00 on Saturday.
Senior Ladies
This weekend sees the Coca Cola Meath Ladies Senior Football Championship reach the semi-final stage. Following an at times difficult group stage our Ladies have progressed to the semi-final and will face Oldcastle on Sunday at 13:15 in Simonstown.

Minor Ladies
Our Minor Ladies travelled to Dunboyne on Sunday and despite putting in a stirring second half comeback ultimately fell to a 2-11 to 1-11 defeat.
U-15 Girls
Yesterday evening Summerhill were the visitors to Fr. Tully Park and on an evening where the old adage of goals win games proved through they won out by 4-03 to 1-09.
Ladies Football Training Times
Girls U-9 and U-11 training is on Mondays from 18.30 – 19.30
Girls U-13 training is on Mondays from 19:00 – 20:00
Girls U-15 training is on Wednesdays from 19:00 – 20:00
Minor Training will be incorporated with the senior training.
Underage competition due to start before the end of August.
Meath U-15
Last Saturday the Meath U-15’s travelled to Garvaghy where they took on Tyrone in four matches.
We were very well represented with three players on the panel from the club, Dylan Keating, Adam O’Mara and Alan Mulvany.
The three players all togged out for the Meath Green side which won both its games, the first by 2-12 to 1-10 and the second by 1-05 to 0-07 as Meath claimed a clean sweep of all its games with the Gold squad also winning its two matches.
The future for both club and county is bright with talent like this coming through the ranks.
General Meeting
There will be a General Meeting in the clubhouse on Monday September 7th.
Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 4, 16, 19 and 21. There was no winner of the jackpot of €8,800 which means next week’s jackpot will be worth €8,900. The 5 by €25 winners were Ann Mahon, Anthony Mooney, JJ O’Carroll, Lorraine Donnelly and David Dillon.

– Have experience in managing & coaching at club and/or county level.
– Have the necessary qualifications (Fundamentals, Level One Coaching Qualifications etc.)
– Possess suitable managerial and organisational skills.
The appointed manager must work within the Rules of the LGFA and the Code of Best Practice in Youth Sport.
