Tommy Dowd Oil Football League Division 5

Seneschalstown 0-12 Wolfe Tones 4-14

A slow first half performance cost Seneschalstown in this Tommy Dowd Oil Football League Division 5 encounter played in Fr. Tully Park on a bright but windy Sunday morning.

The damage from a Seneschalstown point of view was done in the first half as playing into a strong wind could only muster up a solitary point from an Éamon Finnegan free by which stage the Tones had made hay and ended the half with 3-06 on the board.

The second half didn’t start much better for Seneschalstown as the visitors rattled the net again but from there Seneschalstown did manage to restore some respectability on the scoreboard.

They were mainly helped by the use of the wind when kicking  a number of two pointers. Seán Commons was the main source of them for the hosts kicking four of them, three of which came from open play  but Seneschalstown had David Gordon to thank as he pulled off a number of fine saves to keep the scoreboard down.

Seneschalstown had other second half scores from Owen Mullen, John Smith and substitute Jamie Norris who lined out between the posts for the Seniors on Saturday but were still well short of the visitors from Kilberry and Baile Ghib.
