Seneschalstown U-14’s travelled to Dunboyne on Sunday evening last for round 4 of the spring league against a very big strong Dunboyne side and knew they would be up against it from the word go in order to get a win.

Seneschalstown U-14’s travelled to Dunboyne on Sunday evening last for round 4 of the spring league against a very big strong Dunboyne side and knew they would be up against it from the word go in order to get a win.
Both teams traded points early on with Donal Commons and Liam Maguire both registering scores before Will Finegan popped up with a goal but Dunboyne came back with a goal and point of their own, Seneschalstown were in command in most area’s at this point with Commons and Woodley Nicholson commanding midfield and Maguire, Kit Waddington and Will Finegan leading the forward line and Cillian Lawlor, Ben Coffey and Eoin Mullen commanding the back line and further goal’s from Commons and Finegan gave Seneschalstown some breathing space before Dunboyne registered their own goal just before half time, leaving the half time score at St. Peter’s/Paul’s 2-02 Seneschalstown 3-04.
The second half was a similarly tight affair with both teams trading scores before goals from Cian Rooney and a penalty from Kit Waddington and Finegan again gave Seneschalstown some breathing space but this Dunboyne side never gave in and for the last 10 mins had Seneschalstown under pressure just to hang on and but for some brilliant saves from Cathal Darby in goals we would not have won this game, a masterclass in shot stopping from the young keeper. But even with his saves Dunboyne still scored three goals to leave Seneschalstown hanging on for the win.
