Wolfe Tones started well and were 1-5 to 0-4 to the good at the break as they looked set for a shock victory. However, after the resumption Seneschalstown established a firm hold on the contest.
Sheridan began operating around midfield and almost immediately made a telling impact with a penalty goal. Wolfe Tones failed to score in the final quarter as the Yellow Furze boys found their form.
James Byrne excelled in defence and along with Paul Carey and Davy Byrne they ensured Wolfe Tones were restricted to a few long-range opportunities. Francis Sheridan closed the scoring with a late goal.
