Meath Senior League Div4
Thursday 6th May 2010: Seneschalstown 9-11 Vs St Pats 2-3
It was a nice dry summer evening when these two teams took to the field in Senechalstown, on Thursday, last week. Seneschalstown came out of the traps very early on with three unanswered goals from the boot of three different forwards. There were some great displays of football from this Seneschalstown junior team in the first half. The ball remained in their forwards’ half and this was due to the fact, they won nearly every kick out with great fielding from their midfield, Lisa Mullen/Grace Dean and their wing backs, Adelle Carolan/Aurleita Everard. The ball was laid off well to the forwards who attacked with great support from each player. Aoife Sheridan made some great diagonal runs from the corner forward position which allowed her to get free of her marker and place the ball over the bar. The half time score read 5-6 to the home team to no score. A few changes were made at half time by both teams.
St Pats started the second half the better of the two teams and got themselves on the score-sheet with a goal and a point. Senechalstown replied with 4 great points again from the feet of different forwards. The attacking game from Seneschalstown was spectacular to watch in this game with all forwards getting on the score-card. This could not be done though from some fine defence play and breaking down of St. Pats attack.
Best for Seneschalstown were: Grace Dean, Aurleita Everard, Lisa McGrane, Caroline Mooney, Hazel Bowens and Aoife Sheridan.
